B Powered: Orange

I am usually too tired to work out after work especially when I have one planned the following morning. But something caught a hold of me yesterday, energy. Amazing weather in New York had me almost skipping to the gym in just my tank top and pants, no puffy coat! Got me thinking it's time I spiff up my work out wardrobe and orange is catching my attention to be what I call, my new power color.

B Paired: Stripes + gingham

Early Springtime calls for the art of layering. Why not mix it up a bit?

B Themed: Leopard + orange

Seeing a theme in my ensembles as of yesterday and today. I guess it's no surprise what my favorite pattern and color of the moment is... what will it be next?

A new feature because sometimes we just can't help but shop for the boys. As we are technically on Spring Break, lets see what both him and I would wear. B Indulged

Weekends are always better in NYC when someone comes to visit. I get to be a tourist and enjoy scenery. This last weekend the boy from Seattle made it to the city so I had all opportunities to indulge in breakfasts I would never have otherwise or walks through Central Park that would be out of my way. Though many friends thought my Instagram shots were over doing it, I couldn't help but share my happy weekend discovering Chelsea Market, eating my favorite ice cream or enjoying cocktails on a hotel terrace.

B Gifted: At home gel manicure kit

I'm not sure how she does it but my sister Whitney is notoriously good at picking out presents. She never has to go off a list (even though I always provide one) and always manages to surprises me. She gifted me an at home gel kit for Christmas and it was been the gift that keeps giving. With a full-time job, I don't always find the time to re-paint my nails every 2 or 3 days like I use to and with NYC rent prices the option of going to the salon every weekend is non-existent.

The red carpet gel polish kit is similar to exactly how you would receive a gel manicure at a salon. Prep your nails with prep solution, apply base coat-put nails under light, apply one coat color-put nails under light, apply second coat of color-put nails under light, apply top coat-put nails underlight, wipe clean with post solution and done!

Some self nail painting talent may be required but with practice and patience you'll nail an awesome manicure. My gel manicure from this kit typically lasts me 5-7 days. OH and don't worry, there are plenty of color options...

B Loving: Seventy degrees

It's seventy degrees in New York today, really came out of nowhere. One thing I'm learning, weather is unpredictable which is why I wish I was wearing these and not my boots today. I guess it's time to start switching out the wardrobe or is it?

B Wearing: New favorite detail

I love simple jewelry. Something easy to wear and beautiful in detail. I decided on these gold hammered rings from Natural Abstract on Etsy and couldn't be happier. I can wear just one, all three on different fingers or stacked on one. Possibilities are endless.

B Obsessed: Kate Spade wrist watches

Came across these beauties yesterday while doing some lunch time online shopping. It's times like these that I regret leaving retail and the discount it entailed but then again, probably smart or my money would be blown on all five of these guys. I love their character and classic styles. Can't decide which one to seriously pick up first because how can you resist?

B Finished: Last bedroom touches

Over the weekend I finally got to what I've been working to do for months. Finishing the decorative details in my bedroom. After finally receiving many Etsy orders, finishing a DIY, obsessing over WestElm.com and ordering prints for frames, my New York bedroom has grown to what I pictured it to be. I wanted everything to have a story and finding many pieces on Etsy, adding personal details and choosing decorative items that were unexpected gave me the modern rustic space I planned.

The bed from PB Teen and bedspread from Anthropologie, first two purchases and perfect ways to set the tone of my room. Long distance love pillow from Etsy (also seen here). Impulse purchase with help of birthday gift cards, paper mache stag head blends with the walls giving a subtle statement.

Two prints layered on each other give me a glimpse of home (Seattle) and encouraging words from Romans 5:8 (from etsy shop Ex Libris Journals). Aged candle holders from Pier 1 Imports and deer statue from my first trip to the Brooklyn Flea.

My monotone white walls and all mustard/gold tones needed a pop of color, West Elm couldn't have introduced this new lacquer turned-leg nightstand at a better time. Deep picture ledge shows my proud DIY gold chevron canvas (adapted from here) and gifted poster from my sister stating "No whining, no complaining, absolutely no frowning. Only hugs, smiles and warm fuzzy feelings allowed. Thank you".

Lastly, an old bird cage covers a large candle complimenting my window sill of frames and cards from loved ones.
