B Bright: DIY color block pouch

Everywhere you look Celine pouches are somewhere to be found, lusted or dreamed of. I myself had a moment of weakness drooling over the leather pieces held together by thread and a zipper shown here. Also, where I found a least expensive alternative achieving the same look. When I saw a photo of a color block Celine pouch (pinned here) I knew that's what I wanted. One bright neon block on the bottom of my pouch. So I quickly picked up one from American Apparel and got to work. Here is how I achieved the look:

Step one: All you need is a leather pouch, acrylic paint in white and the color bright color of your choice, paint brush, painters tape, blow dryer & acrylic coating spray (shown later) and good tunes to listen to

Step two: Mark off the area you want to paint with painters tape. If you are a real perfectionist you can measure it out to make sure it is even on both sides or trust your insticts and eye ball it like I did.

Step three: Mix white acrylic paint with a bit of water for first layer to help it adhere to the leather. Start brushing onto leather from tape down to avoid too much leakage under the tape. (As tedious as you can be I'm sorry to say this still happens.)

Step four: After the white dries, bring out the neon guns and do the same without water added. The white acts as a primer so that your color will pop bright against the muted leather. I used a blow dryer during this process because I couldn't take the waiting in between layers to paint. Works miraculously to get an even coat.

Step five: When you're finally satisfied with the painted color cover the non painted leather with paper or cover with a magazine of some sort. Last minute I didn't like the feeling of the rough paint so ran to the craft store for glossy acrylic spray coat. This helps protect the paint from water and wear while also giving it a soft smooth finish like the leather!

Let dry for 2 hours untouched and you're done! Now what else can I paint with neon...

B Modern: Girl needed a drink

Don't remember the last time I was at the mall on a Saturday. Was a bit scared to think what I got myself into but was happy to see it quiet. Though going on a mission with a friend we didn't exactly find what we were looking for so a cocktail break was needed. Only appropriate I sipped on a Retail Therapy containing belvedere vodka, grand marnier, strawberry, basil and lemon juice. This pink drink is definitely one to try for a special occasion or girls luncheon and how to die for are my sliders down below? I came out with no bags but definitely was treated.

Retail Therapy on the right, Pink Diamond on the left made with veev acai, Lemon, pomegranate juice and sparkling wine

Lunch was at Modern Steak in Scottsdale, AZ. Put it on your list!

B Creative: DIY Hippie headband

Earlier in the week I showed you how to make a crystal headband, now its time for a hippie headband. I admit, I came to this trend late. Couldn't find the right hand band to work with my fine hair and not dig into my forehead. This is the simplest of headbands to make and all this is really required of you is to find an embellishment you love! I was drawn to the gold chain found in the ribbon aisle of my craft store but you can use lace, feathers or any other ribbon emellishment. Here are the steps:

1. Measure decorative ribbon/embellishment to half size of your head
2. Measure clothing elastic to the size of head and pull tight to create elasticity
*note: elastic will typically just be a 4-5 inches longer than embellished piece
3. Glue ebellishment to elastic starting with center of each. Do not pull the elastic while gluing.
4. Glue ends of elastic together, let dry 5 minutes. Ta da!

B Treated: An afternoon snack

I just got back from running around with a good friend taking pictures. I have no self control and wanted to give you a taste because I was too excited. I am still so full from our yummy ice cream sandwiches. Also couldn't resist to share my new shades and a few things up the blog's sleeve so here you go an afternoon snack and DIY sneak peek. The weekend is almost here!

B Taught: Scotch tape nail polish trick

Sometimes you just can't decide what color you want to paint your nails. You could paint different fingers with different colors but then you still have to go back and remove the polish. When I can't decide what color I want to use I pull out my scotch tape.

Scotch tape clear or regular will easily represent your nail color true to its color out of the bottle. Simply paint a couple strokes and let dry. Then hold up the color to your nail and decide which you will want to wear. Once you decide, just simply break off the tape and toss!

I love using this trick when I'm trying to decide on what colors to contrast with each other when I want to re create the ring finger manicure.

B Outdone: Deborah Lippmann's Spring/Summer polish

I don't come home and put on CNN or wake up early to watch Good Morning America. My news source has become Twitter. I choose who I want to follow and what I want to hear. While this includes keeping up with what's going on in the world it mainly all has to do with fashion and beauty. It's a fast business and everyone wants to be first. Which is why I get so excited when announcements are made through this media. Thank you Deborah Lippmann for making me love you for one more thing.

I've been eyeing the latest Deborah Lippmann colors Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I Know What Boys Like and Yellow Brick Road since seen on Eva Chen's tumblr. (Another great source for everything beauty via Twitter). And then Deborah Lippmann went via Twitter last night and introduced a new polish coming this month inspired by model Lara Stone, Lara's Theme. I love the bright colors playing on classics with new hues that I will look great on hand.

B Thankful: Anthropologie mini latte bowls

It was a week ago when I received a package on my doorstep after coming home from Seattle. It was a graduation gift from a good friend turned blogger bff. I thought I could tweet or facebook her but thought writing a blog post and showing her how I'm using the gift is more fitting! Hope you approve Katie (plug: see her blog Being 5 here).

They are the Anthropologie mini latte bowls she once had a giveaway with that I desperately wanted. Not for ice cream (who eats that little of ice cream) but as catch all bowls around my room. They are the perfect size to hold a polish I want to wear next or catch my studded earrings in a place where I can see them without losing. Placed a couple in my bathroom and one perfectly on my bed night stand to hold my studs for when I remove them to sleep. Thanks Katie for the perfect gift!
