I got the baking itch yesterday and it was time to bless my kitchen with some love. My mission was homemade cinnamon rolls. No store bought dough here, all from scratch. I was a bit intimidated considering I've never used yeast in my life. So I relied on the great instructions from The Pioneer Woman. Let me derail for a bit and rave about how much I adore this blog. If you want to learn how to cook, read it. With play by play pictures anyone can rise dough in the kitchen. I found the cinnamon roll recipe here.
So I took the challenege of homemade cinnamon rolls. Followed directions precisely and even got a trip to happy hour while letting the dough rise. Just a few glasses of wine later I was rolling out the dough and sprinkling cinnamon like its my job. But whats heaven without a little icing? Maple flavored icing topped it off and I can never go back.
My only personal note is that make sure you have enough friends to share the love with. I couldn't let these sit in my kitchen all week if I wanted any chance of making it to the gym so I snuck someone to the neighbors who gladly took them off my hands.
